White Stork near Wick, Somerset 25th - 28th March 2006Whilst travelling to Brean, something caught my eye in a field in front as I drove over the railway bridge. It crossed my mind not to stop but I'm now glad I did as the bird was a White Stork. On saturday and sunday it was mainly loyal to the same field with a pond in. The reason for this seemed to be because of the source of food. The bird was regularly picking up what I would guess were frogs attracted to the pond. On the monday the bird was not recorded in the field at all favouring the fields west of the Cider Apple Farm. Presumably most of the frogs had been consumed forcing the bird to look elsewhere.
