Pectoral SandpiperA confiding Pectoral Sandpiper was found on 26th August 2006 just south of the huntspill/parrett confluence by local birder James Packer. It was frequenting the small pools on the saltmarsh and was showing down to 4.5 metres at times. To get close views of birds it is always usefull to anticipate a birds feeding direction and then let it come to you. This is the technique applied on this occasion. The bird quite happily fed along a channel moving towards us and then walked in a semi-circle around us to carry on feeding along the channel.
