The Yellow Wagtail is a familiar bird on passage in april/may and august/september, also being found as a breeder in many parts of central, southern and eastern england, absent in wales and most of the south west.
This charming little bird can be easily identified by its flight call which is a "tswee". Once seen flying over head the silhouette is distinctive as the bird appears to look like a pipit with a long tail.
