Spoonbill Weston STW 12th May 2006

Found by Mark Ponsford on evening of 11th May. There had just been a thunderstorm and I was on my way to the Axe Est to see if anything had been driven down when I got a call from Mark to say that there was a Spoonbill at the Sewage works. As I arrived the bird was in flight and heading towards the estuary where it dropped. The bird was present in the estuary marsh over night and into the early hours of the morning when it tracked its way back to the sewage works. The bird gave great views on the UV pools until 12:30 when it flew up and headed back towards the estuary.
